Temple Emmanuel Cemetery

The Temple Emmanuel community has been dedicated to our living members and honoring the memory of those who passed away.

Our tradition teaches that when Jews come together to form a new community, their first priorities are establishing a school and creating a synagogue. After all, the community ensures continuity through education and communal prayer. Once these essential components of Jewish life are in place, the community focuses on establishing a cemetery, signifying the intention to sustain the community for future generations.

The Temple Emmanuel Cemetery was acquired from Mishkan Tefila and signed on September 18, 1950. According to the conditions of the deed, the land is to be used for the burial of individuals of the Jewish faith (Condition #1). The religious requirements governing the burial of the deceased shall be observed in accordance with the Conservative Jewish tradition practiced by Congregation Mishkan Tefila (Condition #4). In support of this commitment, our congregation continues to maintain the Temple Emmanuel Cemetery as the burial ground for our community.
