Erev Shabbat Celebration
May 4, 2018 @ 7:30 pm - 8:30 pm

Relocation of our Shabbat Celebration Friday Evening, May 4, 2018 to Temple Beth Shalom in Melrose
A very recent conversation between our synagogue and the Melrose Temple resulted in both synagogues expressing interest in working together for the good of the greater community going forward. To that end the Melrose Temple invited us to a special Shabbat they are having this Fridayevening.
Playing into this decision to relocate our Shabbat Celebration is a confluence of events whereby several regular Shabbat attendees including Rabbi Greg are out of town for the weekend.
Several of their congregants recently visited us for Friday night Shabbat Celebration and this is our opportunity to visit with them. We do apologize for the late notice.
Here are the details:
Musical Shabbat, May 4
Join Rabbi Fertig, Cantorial Soloist Beth Purcell and special guest, composer and pianist Jeremiah Klarman for a music-filled service to usher in Shabbat on Friday evening, May 4, at 7:30. Beth and members of the TBS choir will lead lively musical settings of the prayers by contemporary composers, including original work by Jeremiah. An oneg Shabbat will follow.
Jeremiah is a rising composer of classical and Jewish music. A recent graduate of New England Conservatory, he has been commissioned to write choral works by Zamir Chorale and by Temple Emanuel in honor of their 75th anniversary. An ASCAP award winner, he has performed on NPR’s “From the Top” and had his music performed by the Boston Pops, the Boston Modern Orchestra Project, Landmark Orchestra and others. He is a teacher and accompanist at Gann Academy and Artist-In-Residence at Temple Emanuel in Newton.
Hoping to see you there!
