On Sunday, February 2, Temple Emmanuel will welcome Paul Cancelliere and the Wakefield Veterans Advisory Board to lead the annual “Four Chaplains” memorial service.  This event honors the Four Chaplains, including Rabbi Alexander D. Goode, who died rescuing civilian and military personnel as the American troop ship SS Dorchester sank on February 3, 1943.  There is a memorial monument in front of the synagogue, one of several in the country, that commemorates the ultimate sacrifices made by these men of different faiths.  The service begins at 9:00 AM, and it is open to the public.
