CHAIR Campaign

Creating a Hospitable Accessible Inclusive Renovation

Bringing a new level of comfort for all to our Temple

November 2025

Dear Fellow Congregants and Friends of Temple Emmanuel,

We are now in our second year of the CHAIR capital campaign: Creating a Hospitable
Accessible Inclusive Renovation.  We hope you have experienced the enjoyment of the
renovated sanctuary complete with comfortable, movable chairs, access ramps, and safety
railings, new carpeting, better sound and zoom equipment, painted ceiling, and touched up stained
walls and also a totally accessible restroom.
The cost of this endeavor was around ninety thousand dollars, which was funded through the
Temple’s reserves and a fifteen-thousand-dollar grant from Combined Jewish Philanthropies. It
was anticipated that the reserve costs would be reimbursed over three years, and we have
collected approximately all but fifteen thousand of the remaining pledged money.
New CHAIR donations are welcome, and we anticipate second-year pledges will be forthcoming.
We are grateful to everyone who has donated to this endeavor and has enabled us to become a
more accessible facility

Sincerely,

Yuri Shikhanovich                     Ben Weiner
