DESCRIPTION:FACE TO FACE WITH AFRICA THROUGH\nTHE EYES OF A JEWISH EXPLORER \nSISTERHOOD OF TEMPLE EMMANUEL OF WAKEFIELD\nINVITES YOU TO A VIRTUAL FACE TO FACE WITH AFRICA\nTHROUGH THE EYES OF A JEWISH EXPLORER\, IRENE SHALAND.\nSUNDAY\, NOVEMBER 13\, 2022 AT 7 PM \n\nThe Sisterhood of Temple Emmanuel of Wakefield invites you to a special virtual\ndiscussion of Jewish Africa by Irene and Alex Shaland. For 35 years they have\nshared apassion for travel as a form of Knowledge-sharing. They focus on holistic\napproach to travel and are dedicated to popularizing independent tourism-\nwith-a-higher-purpose through writing\, public lecturing and photography. \n\nThey rely on their first-hand personal experience to deliver\ncomprehensive\, scholarly\, and entertaining content for audiences.\nAs a writer focused on Jewish communities around the world\, Irene\nShaland presents her personal Jewish stories she discovered in Africa.\nThis mysterious continent remains one of the most enchanting and\nfascinating destinations for both Irene and her husband\, Alex. From the\nNairobi Synagogue and its energetic community\, to Masai Tribe village with\ntheir Old Testament-like legends\, from the Great Rift Valley\, where life on\nearth began\, to the Great Migration in Kenya and Tanzania\, Africa presents\nitself as a never-ending journey of mystery and discovery. \n\nThrough photographs and stories\, Alex and Irene will share their amazing\nexperience from Africa by taking the audience on a unique journey through\nMasai Mara. Amboseli\, Ngorongoro Crater\, and Serengeti Parks.\nThe program will begin at 7 PM on Sunday\, Evening November 13 and is\nexpected to end by 8:30 PM with time for questions the audience may\nhave.  \nThere is no cost to Temple Emmanuel and Sisterhood members. A\nsuggested donation of $10 would be appreciated for visitors.
