SAVE the DATE: Saturday, October 30, 2010 7-10 pm Velvet Elvis @ The Americal Civic Center in Wakefield Sponsored by Temple Emmanuel of Wakefield Invite your friends, family, & neighbors *A family friendly community event for those of all ages *To thank area residents for their support during the Temple’s oil spill of 2007 *Proceeds to benefit Wakefield’s Interfaith Food Pantry Velvet Elvis is Boston's Best Tribute to the Early Days of Rock-n-Roll This 5 piece band pays homage to the golden-throated, guitar slinging pioneers of rock-n-roll, focusing on much of the pre-Vegas Elvis era, as well as many of The King's compatriots, like Carl Perkins, Bill Hayley, and Jerry Lee Lewis, to name a few. Velvet Elvis strives to capture the true detail and feel of a genuine 50's Rock and Roll show. Close your eyes and you'll feel as if you back in a simpler time...although you may not want to close them for fear of missing a few hysterical stage antics. Also: Special fall raffle and silent auction items including a flat screen TV & Celtics tickets Temple members who have specialty items to donate contact Ben Weiner. Costumes optional Snack foods and beverages (beer, wine, soda, juice, water) available Donations of non-perishable food will be collected that evening too.
